Inspired by lolita fashion and the art nouveau period, I made this mixed media self-portrait using fabric, lace and more!
This week was our last week to draw models!
I really like the background I painted with bold primary colors, and the path and halo around our model to create a flow for the eye to follow!

Our first assignment in color theory was to paint a photo with strong values!
This piece is about 2 by 3 feet, & this was done in oil paint in about 10 hours total as my final project in painting.
Using nouveau inspirations, I repurposed a wooden cabinet door into a color pencil portrait!
I took this photo in Epcot (Disney world) and immediately wanted to recreate it. The front bushes are more detailed giving this piece more depth.
This oil painting was a study of the complementary colors blue and orange. I think I’m becoming more comfortable with oil!
And she said, “Paint me like one of your french gals.” These paintings were done in both acrylic and oil!
